The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has communicated to the housing societies that strict action will be taken against those who are caught violating the dengue Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
The order was issued on the directives of the Director General, RDA Capt. (r) Tahir Zafar Abbasi and the reason behind strict action is to counter the dengue mosquitos which thrive under the prevailing weather.
"The role of private housing societies is very crucial in containing the spread of dengue virus, adding, it is the responsibility of every housing society to ensure dengue free environment for the inhabitants," he said.
Recent rain spell remains ideal for the breeding of dengue mosquitoes and not only do the mosquitoes breed quickly but they also pose a serious threat to human health.
According to information, Bahria Town 1, 2, 3, Safari Villas-I, II, and Bahria Phase Town Phase-8 were not adopting the precautionary measures against dengue.
The careless attitude of certain housing societies prompted the authorities to officially launch a ruling to firmly establish their concerns.
