According to recent developments, Lahore High Court (LHC) has given an ultimatum to remove the billboards of housing societies that remain unapproved.
The LHC has given a week's notice to carry out the action. Earlier this week, it was also announced that the government is preparing an updated list of housing societies that are operating without the NOCs as well.
The notification was issued by LHC Justice Shahid Jamil, who passed the ruling on the removal of illegal and unregistered housing societies to protect the citizens from potential fraud cases.
Shahid stated that investments in such housing societies have the potential to cause serious financial loss to the property buyers and it is the state's responsibility to address the issue.
During the hearing, Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Director General Omar Jahangir stated that the court has the right to remove the billboards. After hearing the arguments, the LHC passed the ruling and a week's notice to the relevant authorities.
